Cassie Scerbo and Ronald McDonald House Charity

Helping Others

I'm a people person and I'm completely one for charity and giving back to the world. I know that many fans see me as outgoing and sometimes silly. I do love to laugh, but my serious side comes out when it comes to family and helping others. There are so many people in need in our world that sometimes it's hard to imagine what to do about it. I live by my philosophy that "Nothing's Impossible." I've been blessed in my life and feel I should do something to give back.

Cassie Scerbo Ronald McDonald House Charities Entertainers receive a lot of attention for the work they do and as an entertainer I believe I'm in a position to really give back and bring positive attention to worthwhile causes. I loooooove kids because children come from such a truthful place, which is refreshing in this world, especially this business. They are so precious and it's really heartbreaking when a child becomes ill. So in terms of helping others and giving back to the community I really would like to be involved with charities focused on helping children.

In the past I've performed and been a part of the Children's Miracle Network. This is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals for research, equipment and charity care. They are a very compassionate organization that really makes a difference. The Children's Miracle Network helps treat over 17 million children every year suffering from every type of disease and injury imaginable. Since 1983, the organization has raised over $2.7 billion! Believe it or not most of that money is made from personal donations.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), I feel, is an amazing charity as well and I'd love to work with them! Like the Children's Miracle Network, RMHC also helps children in need. RMHC is also known as "The house that love built," I just love that saying. I've actually looked into the organization and they do some really amazing things to help children and their families. RMHC provides seriously ill children and their families with a home away from home. Sometimes families have to travel long distances to get the necessary care for their child. RMHC provides housing close by a medical facility so that families can stay together. They also offer recreational activities and an educational program for families who need to stay for an extended period. Families are asked to give a donation depending on what they can afford, but if they can't, then the stay is free. The first RMHC was founded in Philadelphia in 1974 and since then 271 RMHC's have opened in over 30 countries!

Cassie Scerbo Children's Miracle Network I really believe that part of living my life to the fullest includes being able to connect with people and make a difference in their lives. That's another reason why I love to perform - it's a way of connecting with people and making them smile. I want to help kids keep smiling.

If you know of any other organizations you think I should look into, tell me about it in my Message Center! I'm all about keepin' it real and giving everything I possibly can to this world, children and wonderful fan who have given me everything.
