  Stepping Out-of-the Box Sky High!

  In an interview with Kris Ashton of Gameplayer.com, Cassie talked about her new DVD movie Bring It On: In It To Win It. Cassie plays Brooke, an uber-competitive "meanie" who does some pretty amazing sky high jumps in this super sized version of the popular Bring It On franchise. "It was fun to step out of the box and be able to have an attitude and bring out that east coast New York girl. Because I'm originally from New York myself," says Cassie. Although Cassie's the opposite of Brooke in terms of attitude, Cassie did her own stunts and truly embodied her character through the high-powered cheerleading routines.

  Cassie admits to being a tomboy. Her love for athletics and her reign as the hip-hop world champion in 2001 gave her the physical prowess to tackle the role even though she's never been a cheerleader. "I'm totally like a daredevil and not afraid of heights," says Cassie who took in some extra practice and learned "even more difficult stunts" at the local cheer gym with other the other cheerleaders in the cast. They appropriately nicknamed her "Skills" as evidence of Cassie's determination to perfect and master every move.

  Cassie loved hanging out with the cast and crew of the film. Aside from the fun, Cassie is a serious actress with a great desire to pursue more dramatic roles. "I would love to step out of the box and do drama. I mean I love doing everything - I love acting, period. But I want to show people I'm serious about this and not just some little blonde chick coming to LA for the glitz and the glam." Cassie definitely brings her own winning game into every project and whatever she does she wants to "present a really amazing show."
