Cassie signed autographs and reveled in the festivities of the 50th Annual Garden Grove Strawberry Festival during Memorial Day Weekend (May 23 –May 26). The event celebrated 50 years of fun and giving, and is the largest city festival in the United States. Cassie rode in the parade along with the Celebrity Grand Marshall, Oscar winner Martin Landau, and enjoying the rides, contests and live entertainment!
The Garden Grove Strawberry Festival Association was formed in 1958 by a group of local volunteers. The purpose was to have one major function per year that would provide small local groups the means to raise enough money to support their fundraising goals. The Strawberry Festival has raised over $4.2 million for local organizations, including the Police and Fire Departments, Boys and Girls Club, Acacia Day Care Center for the elderly, The Assistance League and many others.
