Soccer Mom

Soccer Mom with Karen MasumMy character Tiffany is SO much like Brooke, my character from "Bring It On: In It To Win It"! But to avoid stereotypes, since I have soooo many different roles to play in my future and can't wait to show the world a different side of my acting (drama - my fave – comedy, etc.), I tried to separate the characters by making Tiffany a little more tomboyish at times and a little tougher and sneakier than just outright bratty and full of ‘tude like Brooke. After all, soccer is more of a tomboy-like sport than cheerleading, so that's where as an actress I changed the characters. Tiffany is SOOOOO much like the real me in the sense of soccer and being competitive. My big secret? I'm such a tomboy on the inside, just a girly girl by appearance! I box, play soccer and LOVE to run track!

I played soccer for nine years

I told the casting director and producers about all my years of soccer experience and how passionate I was towards soccer, but they also loved the way I played Brooke and knew I could totally handle Tiffany!

Soccer Mom available at AmazonI just LOOOVED being on the field again. Soccer was my favorite hobby growing up and a huge passion of mine that had to be sacrificed for acting and the entertainment industry etc. I played mostly center or forward and at times defense…but I was a quick runner and vicious for a young girl! lol, so forward was my fave, and I LOVED scoring the goals! Just like "Bring It On," I chose to do all my stunts. I'm a little daredevil! So I was able to do all the falls, and when Sierra (my ditzy bff in the film) and I hit into each other it took a lot of strength that I had gained from being on the field all those years! Also, I really played in the entire film, so being a true soccer player was necessary! (Which btw felt AMAZING to be back on that field baby!)

It was the best feeling doing everything I love at once, I couldn't have asked for more! Soccer AND acting ;) Nothing better!

Beckham is my favorite soccer player!!!!!!! OMG! lol! And the Italian Soccer team!!! They're amazing players and won the world cup! Also, I'm Italiano so I gotta represent! Forza Italia!

I had a great time working with the cast!

Cassie Scerbo Playing Soccer The cast was wonderful, I also LOOOOVED all the soccer players and LOVED LOVED LOVED my teammates. Go Malibu Majestic! lol … It was really cool working with Emily Osment, she's a sweetheart, so it was kind of hard being mean to her, but that's acting for ya! Also, Missi Pyle was SO funny and outgoing, Master P. is super cool, and I loved Jennifer Sciole, who played my mom. It was funny because we both come from the same background and culture - we are both Italian and from the North East!

Our wrap party with all the soccer players and castmates was really cool as well…they put together a gag reel and it was hilarious! Also, they had our wrap party at a bowling alley! How different?! Oh, and OF COURSE, the crew was so fabulous; everyone was so nice, from the make-up artists to wardrobe to our AMAZING director Gregory McClatchy!

In my favorite scene, I go ballistic.

I love when Becca (Emily Osment) starts to get back at me after a prank I attempted at our "Mother daughter soccer dinner," and I go ballistic and charge at her while my mom Patti Duchamps (Jennifer Sciole), has to hold me back. It was so fun stepping out of the box and becoming this anger-filled girl! Haha.

This movie is about a girl's relationship with her mom, and I totally related. Basically, my mom is my everything! She is my right-hand woman, the most generous, giving woman in this world. She has dedicated her life for me, and not being biased or anything, but I don't know anyone personally who has ever dedicated their entire life to someone else's dream. She is my hero and she is a blessing from God. She is such a special person and deserves everything and anything that she could ever wish for! Love you mommy, you're the best ;)! AND, she is drop dead gorgeous btw! ;)

Movie Synopsis

"Soccer Mom" is a warm-hearted comedy about a compulsive mom who longs to be closer to her soccer-obsessed daughter. She concocts an elaborate disguise and masquerades as a famous Italian soccer star hired to coach her daughter's floundering soccer team, then struggles frantically to keep her wacky charade going long enough to see the girls win their big tournament. Cassie plays Tiffany, a player with Malibu Manchester United team, who delights in taunting the other girls. She is determined to snatch victory at any cost, even if it means nitpicking her way through the rule book.
